The Libre 2 enables the user to obtain continuous, discrete blood glucose readings without the constant hassle of carrying and disposing of lancets and test strips. The Freestyle Libre 2 is a Flash CGM (Continuous Glucose Monitoring) system that is worn on the back of the arm and automatically tracks glucose levels day and night.

The Libre 2 system has two simple components: (1) sensor and (2) reader or a compatible smartphone. The sensor placed on the body will send continuous readings to the user’s Libre 2 Reader or paired smartphone.

The FreeStyle Libre system measures glucose levels through a small sensor — the size of two stacked quarters — applied to the back of your upper arm. It provides real-time glucose readings for up to 10 days, both day and night. The sensor can also read glucose levels through clothes, making testing discreet and convenient.

Easy to apply and wear: Sensors can be worn comfortably for up to 15 days.

FAQs

The FreeStyle Libre 2 sensor is applied to the back of the upper arm with a simple, disposable device called an applicator. When the sensor is applied, a small (5mm) filament is inserted just under the skin and held in place with a small adhesive pad.

If your FreeStyle Libre 2 sensor falls off before 14 days of use replace the sensor and start a new sensor.

Pull up the edge of the adhesive that keeps your FreeStyle Libre 2 sensor attached to your skin. Slowly peel away from your skin in one motion.

After 14 days of wear, the reader notifies you that the FreeStyle Libre 2 sensor has ended and should be replaced with a new sensor.
